Impeach the President - The Case Against Bush and Cheney "Impeach the President is a comprehensive analysis of a criminal administration. It unearths the stories behind voter fraud in 2000 and 2004, the overt lies used to justify pre-emptive war on Iraq, the extensive, ongoing commission of war crimes and torture, the tragic failures in the lead-up to and aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and lesser-known but equally alarming offences of propaganda and disinformation, illegal spying, environmental destruction, and the violation of the separation of church and state. Loo and Phillips chillingly reveal the full threat behind the radical right-wing force that has taken over the most powerful office in the world.

The collection includes a striking introduction by Howard Zinn and contributions from Dennis Loo, Peter Phillips, Judith Volkart, Dahr Jamail, Jeremy Brecher, Jill Cutler, Brendan Smith, Larry Everest, Greg Palast, Nancy Snow, Barbara J. Bowley, Mark Crispin Miller, Kevin Wehr, Richard Heinberg, Lyn Duff, Dennis Bernstein, Bridget Thornton, Lew Brown, Andrew Sloan, Cynthia Boaz, and Michael Nagler. Buy Impeach the President Now

Iraq: The Logic of Withdrawal - Anthony Arnove's book "Iraq: The Logic of Withdrawal" (New Press), with a foreword and afterword by Howard Zinn, makes a direct and clear case for the immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq. The Bush Agenda: Invading the World, One Economy at a Time - (ReganBooks, HarperCollins, April 2006) Renowned international trade and finance policy expert Antonia Juhasz exposes the Bush Administration's radical corporate globalization agenda for global dominance. Presenting the Iraq War as the Agenda's most brutal application to date, Juhasz reveals exactly how the Bush administration uses corporate globalization as a weapon of war to transform Iraq's economy for the advantage of the US corporate elite. "The Bush Agenda is a devastating indictment of the collusion between government and big business that has turned the United States—once-respected as Savior of Democracy—into a feared and hated empire. Packed with facts and insider stories, it is a resounding call to action." - John Perkins, author of Confessions of an Economic Hit Man.

Iraq Veterans Against the War - is a coalition of veterans' groups, peace groups, and political activist groups, which launched on May 26, 2005, a campaign to urge the U.S. Congress to begin a formal investigation into whether President Bush has committed impeachable offenses in connection with the Iraq war.

Iraqi Casualty Counting :

The Iraq Body Count counter has been removed from this site. IBC does important work, but the statistics IBC provides need to be put in context. Iraq Body Count only tallies civilian deaths *reported in selected media sources*. The data is therefore widely recognized as under-reporting civilian casualties in Iraq; the media can in no way document all of the civilians killed.

Researchers published a paper in the Lancet British medical journal in October of 2004, estimating 100,000 Iraqi excess deaths due to the war. The researchers claimed the estimate at the time to be conservative.

The 100,000 number is clearly much greater now. In fact, the same researchers updated the estimate through a study conducted between May and June, 2006. The study was published in the Lancet

This study estimates the total number of excess deaths due to the war to be 650,000 - or 2.5% of the population in the study area.

Unfortunately, the good work of IBC has been used as propaganda by the US government and US media to refute and discredit the Lancet reports. IBC itself spends considerable time attempting to discredit the Lancet reports.
